The U. S. Pacific Northwest stretches from the Pacific Ocean to the western reaches of the Rocky Mountains and from Northern California and Nevada to Canada. It is arguably the most environmentally diverse region of the United States. Here, you find temperate rainforest and semi‐desert, rivers and lakes, rugged mountains and pastoral valleys, ocean beaches and alpine meadows – a feast for landscape photographers.

And the natural diversity of the Northwest is only part of the picture. Add cities, towns, cultures, histories, and all the artifacts of the human presence and you have more than enough for a lifetime of photography and writing, all within a day’s drive.

Welcome to my view of the Pacific Northwest, expressed through photography and writing. I hope you’ll browse through the photo galleries and perhaps find an interesting post to read as well.
